Website Project Manager
Straight North is a privately-owned web design, development, and digital marketing agency. Our focus is on helping generate leads and ecommerce revenue for our growth-minded customers across a variety of product and service industries. The company has employees in dozens of states and has offices in Downers Grove, IL (outside of Chicago) and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Role
The Project Manager will lead new website development projects from the time of a signed contract through the launch of the new site following our system development lifecycle process. The Project Manager acts as the primary liaison between the Straight North team and the client. The Project Manager will also support ongoing website maintenance and support projects with our clients.
The Project Manager is responsible for, and will support the management of, project budgets, client communication, project timelines and status, risk mitigation, scope management, and issue resolution. The Project Manager will work with internal design, content, and development resources to ensure Straight North produces high-quality deliverables. Organization, communication (both written and oral), teamwork, passion, curiosity, and creative problem-solving skills are all key to being a successful Straight North Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Client facing, project management of custom WordPress and Drupal website projects and ongoing website support
- Conduct and lead meetings with clients
- Coordinate and gather project input requirements from the internal team and the client during the project lifecycle
- Lead an internal team and the client throughout the project entirety
- Manage the project schedule and timeline with the client and internal team members
- Present deliverables, coordinate and review feedback, and gain client approval
- Manage project scope, budget, and change request process
- Act as a liaison between our customers and our development team
Requirements
- Self-motivated
- Undergraduate degree
- Experience with WordPress or Drupal
- Desire to learn new technologies
- Ability to meet internal and client deadlines
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at once
- Familiarity and/or experience with some project management tools
- Able to manage own workload, take initiative, and assume responsibility for tasks
- Creative problem solver with desire to find solutions
- Leads with a collaborative, “can-do” attitude
