Graphic Design Pricing

Most of the projects we create are unique in scope and therefore involve custom graphic design fees.

Graphic Design Prices at Straight North

Factors that determine your graphic design cost include —

  • Creative time to write, design and develop the deliverable(s)
  • Editing. We usually factor in two rounds of client-directed edits, but the number will vary if the assignment is very simple or very complicated.
  • Printing costs (if applicable)
  • Image costs (if applicable)

Cost of Graphic Design Services

  • Collateral brochure projects are around $1,000 per page. Thus, the graphic design cost of an 8-page brochure is likely to come out around $8,000 to $10,000, including all content and design.
  • Logo projects are based on client requirements and range from around $5,000 to well over $30,000. The cost may be less if the project is not a start-from-scratch effort, but rather an update to typography or colors, or refinements to an existing legacy logo mark.
  • Trade show booths can cost around $6,000 to well higher, depending on the size and complexity. We have samples of many different types of solutions for trade shows and conferences.
  • Photography costs are quoted separately for custom imagery and stock imagery. Stock imagery is usually included within the design fees. Custom imagery and photography can run from $300 to several thousand dollars depending on scope.
  • Printing is a job we can help quote and oversee if requested. These costs are billed separately as a management fee. We assist with paper selection, print quote options, on-site printing review and supervision, and deployment.

How You Can Help Manage Your Graphic Design Cost

Whether you are working with us or another design firm, you can do several things to help manage your graphic design cost. Generally, the more prepared you are going into the project, the faster we can bring your design concepts to life and the more on target the designs will be — reducing the need for multiple rounds of edits and conceptual rethinking. A few specific ideas to help you prepare —

  • For sales collateral, be prepared to discuss your vision of the project’s goal and key messaging points, along with a detailed explanation of the target audience. This helps us stay on point with both textual and visual content. It’s very important for us to understand what you want the target audience to do next; what impression you want to leave; what uniquely and substantively sets you apart from the competition.
  • Having a formal brand standards guide is extremely helpful, not just for managing graphic design services prices, but also for consistency in how you present your brand on your web properties and business forms, letterhead, business cards, etc. When we know the do’s and don’ts for your brand’s color palette(s), font, image display, and other branding essentials, design work proceeds with much less guesswork.
  • Building up a library of powerful, professional custom images is another great way to control graphic design cost. Photos of products should capture key features and benefits. Photos of your facility should convey size, efficiency, innovation, or whatever else about your physical location(s) is important to customers. Photos of personnel should reflect important aspects of your company culture and attributes of your team that matter to customers. Setting up an on-location custom photo shoot to pull together all of these photographic elements for the sake of a single brochure or trade show booth is not cost efficient.
